It is such a comfort knowing that if something were to happen, my travel money would be protected. My traveling companion recently had an episode with her heart and I was afraid that we might have t cancel our recent trip just a few days for our departure. Luckily her Drs. gave her a clean bill of health and the okay to travel but TravelSafe provided the sense of security that we both needed in case things were to have a different outcome.

Traveling has brought me great pleasure and experiences that go far beyond monetary value! Travel insurance is like the cherry on the cake! Complete freedom of worry! We canceled this trip. The policy was a "cancel for any reason" policy. I filed the requested paperwork immediately, and both the claim and documentation were straightforward and uncomplicated, consisting of only 2 receipts. TravelSafe stalled and delayed repeatedly; my claim was not even evaluated, much less paid, until after an InsureMyTrip rep intervened. InsureMy Trip was great; TravelSafe was not.

I do not understand why the insurance coverage must be activated at the time refundable reservation deposits are made? It seems to make more sense to require coverage premiums when the reservation is paid for and deposit is no longer refundable?

    Most of our providers who offer the Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver will require you to purchase your policy within the first 10-21 days of your initial trip payment. Some of our companies, like Travel Safe, do not require that you insure the full cost of your trip upfront and allow you to add on to your policy as your costs become non-refundable. This allows you to only pay for the coverage you need at that time, and not over insure.

I didn't need to use the plan at all. I purchased it for my Disney Bahamas cruise after all the hurricanes lined up right before I was to set sail. It was nice to have the piece of mind that I had it if I needed it, but it was a bit expensive. I'm sure I wouldn't be saying that if I had needed to use the coverage though.

Once my completed documentation had been submitted, it took more than EIGHT WEEKS to process my claim (all that time without me being asked to submit any additional documentation). I tried to call the company about the delay, but got put on hold for a long time and finally gave up. I will say that they finally reimbursed me for the amount of my request and didn't deny any of my claim. Because of the nature of my injury, I also had a claim for a later trip with different insurer - it took that company THREE DAYS from the time of my electronic submission to notification of approval of the claim and then another four days to receive the refund, for a total of one week.

InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

My wife had to extend her trip by 1 week due to unforeseen medical issues experienced by her mother. Contacted a representative to see if she could extend coverage and was told no with no explanation. Was prepared to pay but had to risk a week with no coverage.

    We are very sorry to hear that your wife had to extend her trip by one week due to her mother's illness. Unfortunately Comprehensive plans, such as the TravelSafe Classic, will not allow you to extend the policy beyond the expiration date once you are already on your trip.
