I sent an email asking question about filing a claim 10 days ago. I got an automated message that my email has been received, but have heard nothing back. This is a stressful enough time having to rearrange travel around the death of my father-in-law. However, not knowing when or how to be reimbursed for those purchases......or what I need to be saving to make sure I have adequate documentation has been even more stressful. I should have gotten an email immediately that told me what to expect and how to make sure I am doing everything correctly.

I did not receive medical care or need reimbursement for any medical costs while in New Zealand. However, I sprained my ankle while there and every contact number provided, international included, was not in service. I have international coverage and no problems with any other contacts except every phone number provided with this plan. I had several questions regarding my coverage while on vacation and unable to reach any customer service to get those questions answered. Very disappointed.

We are so sorry to hear about your sprained ankle while traveling, and how frustrating it must have been for you to not be able to get through for assistance. The phone number labeled “Collect” on the ID card is the number to call when outside of the US, and we do not see that there were any issues with the number, but will keep looking into it to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.
It took altogether too long to process the claim. There is no way to even see where it stands. An email to customer service took a long time for a response.

I wish there was an option to cancel the insurance plan at least a month in advance. I canceled my trip and luckily was able to get all my money back or a credit. I didn't need the insurance. I understand not canceling insurance at the last minute, but a 30 day in advance could be possible.
