The AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold plan offers mid-level coverage and more options than Travel Guard Basic and Travel Guard Silver, allowing you to customize the plan to best fit your needs. In addition to Trip Cancellation, this plan offers Cancel for Any Reason coverage and a Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver. Children age 17 and under are free when there is at least one covered adult on the plan.

While we're blessed not to need to file a claim, it was very reassuring to know that had something occurred, we were covered for all possibilities. A fellow traveler fell and broke her hip, needed immediate surgery in France, and her travel insurance made sure she got all necessary treatment. That's what it's all about and I appreciate InsureMyTrip's website so we can choose the correct coverage.

We luckily didn't have any issues and didn't need to use the plan but it was nice to receive the updated email right before the trip that reminded us of our coverage and links and gave us the phone numbers we needed. Since you might not have WiFi on the cruise ship, make sure to screenshot those phone numbers.

Have used Travel Guard for many European trips; always compare with other companies and keep coming back to Travel Guard on the basis of coverage vs. cost, especially coverage for emergency evacuation. Knock on wood, have never had to file a claim, so can't comment on quality and timeliness of response to a claim.

The major problem with this insurance is lack of primary medical travel insurance. The secondary medical insurance is inadequate. Other parts of insurance are adequate but fairly expensive. Next time I will try to found travel insurance with better medical coverage.

In addition, AIG Travel Guard also offered you a Refund Period:
"FIFTEEN DAY LOOK:
You may cancel this insurance by giving the Company or the agent written notice within the first to occur of the following: (a) 15 days from the Effective Date of your insurance; or (b) your Scheduled Departure Date. If you do this, the Company will refund your premium paid provided no insured has filed a claim under this Certificate."
