It is hard to review a product you didn't have to use. Thankfully! I felt that I had a lot of choices on the site for different policies and was able to choose the best one for me. I did change the dates of my trip and the customer service workers were very helpful and knowledgeable and we got it changed and resent to me quickly. Thank you!

Website instructions and ancillary telephone support were available when, for the first time, I needed to file a claim. The best news: AIG Travel Guard will chase any other coverage I might have and receive whatever compensation is available. I received full payment for all that I had requested! Travel Guard took responsibility for translating my documents. The whole process of making a claim turned out to be much simpler than I had feared. I bought the coverage I thought would be most important for me and the contract was honored when I needed it! Thank you.

I would never arrange a trip without including AIG. We have always used them but have never had to file a claim until now due to my partner's emergency surgery, just a few weeks before our three-week international trip. AIG came through for us and provided a refund for our full claim. We've planned a shorter trip for this August when he's recuperated and already purchased our AIG insurance for it, and plan to take our cancelled trip at the same time next April, same places, same AIG. I can sincerely highly recommend AIG!!

Did not cover delay due to travel accident in which you were not involved. Also due to weather my son lost his school vacation days. I would have cancelled because I did not want him to miss a week of school but that was not covered either. I guess cancel for any reason would have been better for this situation but not for the travel accident delay. That coverage I believe ends 48 hours before trip.

It is true that both these situations would not be covered under a standard trip cancellation policy. Specifically for school-related cancellations, you would need a policy that included Cancel For Any Reason.
There are typically 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, this benefit will typically reimburse you 75% of your trip cost, unless otherwise noted.
