I was unaware of the limitations of this policy. My step son travelling with me got a throat infection while we were away. Taking him to the Hospital was not an option. When I called the insurance company I was told this policy was for serious life treating issues. I could take him to the ER and then a decision would be made as to coverage. In the meantime I would have to pay out of pocket and MAYBE I would be reimbursed. Instead I consulted the pharmacist. I was disappointed at the lack of help I received from the agent. My mistake was I should have informed myself of how to use this plan before I left for my trip.

Thank you for your review. Assuming your stepson also had travel insurance with the RoamRight Essential plan, he would have up to 15,000 USD in emergency accident and sickness coverage. Our 24-hour assistance provider, On Call International, would have been able to assist you in finding non-emergent care for the infection. In this situation, you likely would have had to pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement. However, our claims process is straightforward and easy to do online. You are able to start your claim process the same day treatment was sought. For what we required the plan was too expensive. we went to Florida for 12 days Had I gone to Europe for three weeks, at double the cost and needed coverage for terrorist attacks I would have paid the same price for my family in coverage as I did for the Florida trip. Rates need to be looked into. Our trip insurance through your company was too expensive.
