Purchasing the plan gave us piece of mind. You actually hope you never need it and in our case, we didn't. But when traveling so far from home and for such a long period on your own (no tours), there was comfort in knowing we had something to fall back on at a reasonable cost.

I'm always pleased with the comparisons and information provided by Insuremytrip. I don't think, however, that one can ever rate an insurance company well unless one has a claim. They're all excellent if there are no claims.

We purchased a policy online for an upcoming trip. When I called to ask about the policy I was just told it was a good policy and what I needed to travel out of the country. Due to an unforeseen medical condition we were forced to cancel our trip. I filed a claim right away following all instructions given to file the claim. Imagine my surprise when the claim was denied. Apparently ours was one of the excluded reasons in fine print 20 pages into the policy booklet. I feel this company was deceitful and not helpful. They were willing to take my money for the policy but not willing to reimburse me.

I have been purchasing travel insurance for over 20 years and finally had to use it for a very small claim (missed one hotel night because of a one day flight delay for a three week trip). It was very difficult to get answers over the phone. As expected, lots of paperwork and bureaucracy. Eventually, the full amount was paid.

Love the website. So easy to use. Select coverages you want, compare rated companies side-by-side, get specific details, and compare prices. Select what you need and want, depending on your specific travel needs. Pay for policy and get your documents, all online! So good. I even called Customer Care, and they are always so nice, friendly, and helpful (even in emergencies). You can call toll free, 24 hours a day, regardless of where in the world you are. Always use this service for long international trips.
