The Travel Max plan offers the highest limits of coverage and the most benefits of the three comprehensive Travelex plans. This plan includes coverages that are optional upgrades on the Travel Basic and Travel Select plans. Coverages include Trip Cancellation and Interruption coverage with an enhanced list of covered perils, along with higher limits of coverage for Travel Baggage, Baggage Delay, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

I was very satisfied with the plan, but it took me awhile to wade through the options to find something without the coverages that I DIDN'T want. Like me, there are many travelers who do their research, buy their Lonely Planet guide, and then head off on their own with their backpack (yes, I'm still doing it at age 55!). I meet many of them when I am on the road. We're not interested in trip cancellation coverage because we don't have an expensive tour booked. Nor is our baggage worth much (in $) if it were lost. All the independent traveler really wants is fairly high-limit medical coverage, with evacuation included (should we be ill enough to need Western-standard care). It would be helpful to the traveler, and probably a boon to the carriers, if they marketed a plan like this, geared to independent travelers and labeled as such. I found the right plan with Travelex, but it took me awhile. Regards, Marc

Without the need to file a claim it is not possible to rate the company or the coverage since claim response is the only reason to buy insurance.
