C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
This trip insurance policy proved to be a waste of money. I had used this company before, but this was the first time I had ever tried to make a claim. I had a dental emergency and was unable to take my connecting flight home due to the cabin pressure making the pain unbearable on the first leg of my journey home. I rang Customer Service who indicated that I would be covered under the interrupt for any reason clause of the policy for my family and I staying in a hotel overnight and meals. I immediately went to the ER and was given antibiotics and an injection for the pain as it was the evening and all dentists were shut, and I ended up seeing an emergency dentist the next day. I had a fractured tooth and jaw bone infection. Under the dental listing on my policy it stated that I would be covered up to $750.

Well nearly two weeks later after submitting loads of paper work and receipts that were requested my claims were denied. Guess what, apparently interrupt for any reason didn't actually cover my emergency overnight accommodation and meals at all, their agent had been misinformed. I was very lucky in that my flight carrier changed my flights at no extra charge so I was able to resume my travel home at no extra expense. Then apparently dental only covers 'natural teeth' and as the tooth that started it all had a crown on it was not covered. FYI, any tooth that has had any type of work on it, filling etc. is no longer considered a natural tooth so isn't covered. I paid more for what I had hoped would be a good policy, but in the end it literally didn't cover me for anything at all when i needed it.

    Trip Interruption for Any Reason will cover 75% the total amount of coverage you purchased, to reimburse you for unused non-refundable land or water Travel Arrangements plus additional transportation costs paid to transport you to your originally scheduled return destination. Unfortunately, it will not cover additional accommodation expenses during your trip interruption.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
Overall, good service with a product that was well explained and results were as promised. I would use this company again.

Kate T, the CT Claim Analyst, was very pleasant to work with. She has a nice communication style and was helpful and honest.

The only problem is that it took a longer time to get the claim processed than was stated by the company.

I had a claim for $50 for damage to the luggage. The insurer asked for the same items multiple times.I will most likely not use this insurer again.

I had to cancel my flights due to the airline changing the schedules and I could no longer make my connections. The claims process went very smoothly and I received my refund in a timely manner.

a little too expensive for domestic travel I thought, and i wasn't sure if "cancel for any reason" was worth it if you still had to notify within 48 hours... i'm not sure why there should be any penalty for notifying even up to the hour of travel, you still don't get back 100% of the cost of trip anyway; isn't it only 75% or so?

    The C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus is a benefit rich policy. In addition to the standard comprehensive policy benefits, this policy also includes Cancel For Any Reason, Interruption For Any Reason, Cancel For Work Reasons, the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver, and Political and Natural Disaster Evacuation.

    Cancel for Any Reason gives a traveler the flexibility to change their mind and decide not to travel. No reason would need to be given. However, trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 hours prior to the departure date. The reimbursement would be 75% of your trip costs.

Fortunately, I did not need to actually use the benefits available to me. That is the best coverage ever, the one you never need to use. I've used Insure My Trip a few times (every time I travel for pleasure), and I've always been satisfied. This was a different company than I've purchased in the past (C&F Travel Insured Worldwide); however, the coverage that I was looking for existed in only a few policies. Specifically, I'd had a recent hospitalization in the past couple of months, and I wanted the Waiver of Pre-Existing conditions. Most policies don't cover anything in the past 6 months to a year. Not so with this specific policy. As long as you purchase this specific type of policy (Trip Protector Plus) within 21 days of the initial payment on your trip, you get the waiver. The peace of mind was well worth it, as the condition I was hospitalized for is something which can frequently recur. The last thing I wanted to do was be hospitalized in a strange city where my Health Insurance was most decidedly "Out Of Network." The documentation provided by the company was extremely thorough in the policy documents and the description of coverage. Couple that with the procedures on how to file a claim and what number to call if you need help 24 hours a day, I was satisfied we would have been taken care of had we needed to file a claim.

This was expensive insurance, but it was a high cost trip as it was for a month and in the UK. I was injured prior to the trip and unable to travel. There was A LOT of paper work and I would advise you to be sure to keep excellent record keeping in case you have to file a claim. You will also have to wait if you are renting an accommodation like I was, to see if they can re-rent it before you file your claim to determine if you have any credit. Similarly if you have airline tickets and cancel you may only get taxes paid back so you will need documentation of all of that before filing a claim! Just an FYI.
Everyone I spoke to from the start in customer service about filing the claim was very personable and helpful. Once submitted it did take about a week longer than it stated based on the fact that they were " backed up" however once processed I received the full refund within 48hrs of notification. If I hadn't taken out the insurance I would have lost a lot of money so I would highly recommend buying a comprehensive insurance such as this from C & F Travel Insured International , especially if your trip is oversees.

The cancel for any reason rider is NOT for any reason. It does not include any emergencies that may happen in the 48 hours before you leave on your trip. This is ridiculous and idiotic.

I do not recommend this company, nor do I think that travel insurance is a very good investment for many of us who do not book all-inclusive trips.
