I had purchased "cancel for any reason" protection for a recent trip. When I cancelled the trip and filed a claim, I received a prompt email asking for documentation of my lost deposit. I explained that some of the documentation wasn't applicable and sent in the rest. My claim was reviewed and paid very quickly.

This is the second time I have insured my travel with C&F Travel Insured. I did not have to file claim, but I will definitely use them again.
My latest trip was at New Zealand, & I was near the 7.8 earthquake epi center when it happened. Fortunately, our location was not affected by the damage. I received an email soon after from Travel Insured, checking my status & providing instructions on claim assistance. That was very assuring.

I did not need to use my Travel Insured plan for my current trip to Japan.
However I will always use them thanks to their easy and prompt attention to my plan two years ago when I needed to return from Paris for an emergency. Very helpful and refund without hassle .

Thankfully I didn't have a need to file a claim. However, as I was traveling to Iran and didn't know until a week before the trip if we'd actually be going, I was grateful to have coverage. Also, my luggage was 2 1/2 days delayed, so it was good to know I had extra protection there as well. Since Iran does not have diplomatic relations with the US, I felt the coverage was pretty critical. Staff from insure my trip were extremely helpful in answering questions. I would use them and this coverage again. CE

If you consider this plan, be aware that "cancel for any reason" is only good for up to 48 hours before you leave. I had to cancel right before I left for the airport due to a very serious pet emergency (culminating in putting him to sleep) and was not able to make a claim on the monies I paid because I was outside the 48-hour cancellation window. So sadly I'm out a few thousand dollars, and I want others to learn from my experience.
