I unfortunately had to file a claim.
Generali was very clear on what needed to be provided.
I spoke to one of their customer service representatives
who was most helpful in clarifying a point.
I telephoned in two times. The first time I called, i believe it was over a weekend, I waited on hold about an hour + and eventually hung up.
I had better luck the 2nd time, as I recall I only waited 15 minutes. They do offer a different number if you are traveling and it's urgent you speak to a representative.
I followed their requirements exactly when I submitted my paperwork and after about 10 days I received a check for the full amount I claimed.
Excellent experience.

With the c.virus spreading, and ships being cancelled/quarantined, having this insurance was a stress reliever. Thankfully, we had NO need to file a claim, but comforting to know we had options if we needed them. Trip to Italy coming up (now THEY're in the c.virus news!) so will be getting coverage through Generali again.

Have used Generali for years now on our cruising vacations. Only needed to file one claim in 2019 which was handled quickly and efficiently. Will continue to use Generali as I believe they offer the best bang for the buck.

I primarily got this plan because it met the minimum evacuation coverage required by my tour company. Did not utilize any of the benefits even though I was limping and in some pain because of fall and tight boots. Felt that the cost was too high, but did not have that many options since the tour firm was non-U.S. and had to get something fast.

I cancelled my trip because of the coronavirus issue, but think if I had gone, the insurance coverage would have been appropriate.

The company strongly encourages their customers to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage. "For plans that do offer coverage for illness, please note that the Coronavirus outbreak event could be considered foreseeable under any plans purchased on or after January 22, 2020."

    An event that is foreseeable is not covered under the Generali policies. However, you purchased your policy on January 20th which is prior to January 22nd, so you would have avoided that limitation of coverage.

We had a wonderful trip. One thing we did not have to worry about was, "What would happen if we had problems." We knew that with the travel insurance they would have been covered. Peace of mind is worth more than you realize.

Did not have to use it thankfully. Did have a 5 hour delay on our return to the us in Edinburgh, Scotland, however we did make our connection so, no issue.
