The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
I purchased the plan to cover my entire trip. I had 6 days on my own and a tour for 6 days. I tried to cancel the tour ( it was a hiking trip and I had unexpected knee surgery) and was told only the entire trip could be cancelled. I did not wish to, nor did I need to, cancel the entire vacation. Instead I wasted my money on a tour I could not and did not enjoy or utilize. Terms should be made much clearer before purchase.

Fortunately, we did not have to process a claim, so I can't rate the plan accurately. The representative who worked with me and helped with insurance choices was very good, and the coverage seemed accurate for our trip.

The plan is O.K., but IMO just a bit overpriced. I've never had a problem, or claim, and have always bought Global Alert, but I'm going to look around in the future.

Thank you very much for your comments. We would like to further explain to your fellow travelers that Primary coverage will pay FIRST, before any other collectible insurance. Secondary coverage will pay you after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policy's limits have been exhausted.
