I didn't submit a claim this time, but did on a prior trip to the Dominican Republic. The claim was handled quickly and easily despite the paperwork being in Spanish.

Yes. I didn't have to use it but I almost did. My plane was delayed 5 hours..... Hopefully next time If I have to use it that I my coverage will be useful.

We were pleased with the representatives who helped us purchase the travel insurance. Fortunately we didn't need to use it for any emergencies while in the Netherlands. Having the coverage did give us peace of mind.

Fortunately we had no need to file a claim so cannot comment on that process but securing the coverage was easy. The personnel on the phone were very good to deal with.

When my luggage didn't show up for three days upon my arrival in Istanbul, I was surprised to discover how little the "$500" lost luggage portion of the policy was worth. $100 would only cover the cost of my actual suit case, not the contents. It would be almost better not to list anything than to have buyers assume the policy would cover more. I realize the details probably were in the policy, but with so many different items to compare most people aren't going to read every detail before purchasing. -Luckily my luggage eventually showed up, so I didn't need to file a claim.

Travel insurance is something I hope I never need, but will not go abroad without. I've been on trips where fellow travelers were sick or badly injured and totally on their own - not a pretty sight. Buying travel insurance gives me the sense that someone "has my back" - and allows for a much more relaxed vacation. The HTH Worldwide Travel Gap Excursion Plan covered what I needed at a fair price, and I recommend the plan without reservation. Pam Klainer

I purchased this insurance to cover me in Case I became ill while away since my health insurance does not cover expenses out of the country. Well, I did become ill while visiting Costa Rica. The 3 hour stay in the hospital, intravenous treatment and doctors care with prescription for antibiotics came to a total of about $275( 1/20th the cost in the US). HTH Worldwide paid the total cost and I was very happy .

I did not need to use any part of the plan, but was glad to have it ready if needed for the peace of mind it gave me during my travels. My rating is based on the impression I had, I felt I can not give the highest score if I actually never filed a claim and experienced how the plan/company would deal with it
