Never considered purchasing travel insurance until a coworker had a sudden death in her family the day her family was to leave on a $6000 vacation. She recommended that I purchase travel insurance because you never know! Even though I did not have to file a claim I felt it was well worth the extra expense.

For the young adult members of our family is was an excellent deal, but naturally the costs increase by age, so that as the grandma of the gang I was paying the most. While I understand that we oldsters are expensive in that we may be more likely to fall or get sick, but I would like to see some actuary scales that take into account the variability of people over 80.

This was the first time we were filing a claim for travel cancellation due to medical reason and I was a bit skeptical about my claim settlement. However Travelex Insurance put all my doubts to rest.
