As with most insurance, I purchased it for the security. So, if I didn't need it, all for the better. I believe the insurance provided the coverage that I wanted, but I do believe it was a little expensive...no surprise there. I admit that we are old, but in good health.

I purchased this trip in case my uncle passed and we needed to cancel our trip. Unfortunately, he did, but it didn't affect our vacation. Then my child's mental health began to decline rapidly and she ended up being hospitalized. Since we canceled a portion of our trip while we were researching mental hospitals rather than waiting to cancel until after she was admitted, they denied our claim, stating the policy was not "in effect" since we canceled that portion of our trip too early. How convenient for them! Beware - make sure you cancel your trip from your hospital bed!

my trip was delayed 1 day due to missed connection
i incurred out of pocket expenses and the baggage was let out in the rain causing some damage
the claims process ( total claim only about $300) was so tedious requiring uploading numerous documents that it was not worth my time and effort. Phone support was very vague. I get the distinct impression that travelguard is not really providing any insurance, not sure why i use them, no more!

All claims are fully adjudicated based on the coverage purchased and supporting documentation. Claims are fully reviewed for any coverage opportunities. Although I've purchased this insurance several times before, this is the first time I've needed to collect on it. I am very pleased to say my claim was processed promptly, and without question. I submitted all the necessary paperwork, and was reimbursed for the full amount. I will definitely buy this insurance for my next trip.
