International Medical Group iTravelInsured LX

The iTravelInsured LX plan has excellent coverage, like the iTravelInsured SE plan, but with additional included benefits. The plan is specifically designed for luxury and adventure trips to exotic locations.

In addition to traditional trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage, the LX plan offers Cancellation for Any Reason and Interruption for Any Reason as an additional option for travelers. These options are available to those who purchase this plan within the first 20 days of their initial trip payment date (please read the plan details for complete option requirements). This coverage will help to reimburse you up to 75% of the total trip cost if your trip must be cancelled or interrupted for any reason not listed as a covered peril within the plan details.

The LX plan offers a pre-existing condition waiver if your plan is purchased at or before the final payment for your trip (coverage varies by state, please refer to your policy documents for further details). Unlike the SE plan, this plan has up to $1,000,000 in coverage for emergency medical evacuation and automatically includes the hospital of choice benefit as well. The plan also includes $50,000 for Political or Security Evacuation and Natural Disaster Evacuation (per event).

Additionally, this plan includes missed trip connection for coverage if you miss your trip departure because your arrival at your trip destination is delayed for at least three consecutive hours, due to one of the covered reasons under missed trip connection in the plan details.

Purchased this plan because it would cover preexisting conditions. Had to cancel my March cruise on Doctors orders not to travel after change in my medical condition. I have been fighting with this insurance company for nine months and the still have not payed my claim. The keep losing my Medical record documents that the doctors office send them and they are asking for records for 60 days prior to when the insurance was purchased even though my Doctor sent them a note that there are no medical records for that period because my health was good then. They say they cannot reach my doctors office on the phone when my Doctors office says they have not called even thought the doctors office has been waiting for there call. I would never recommend IMG iTravelInsured or use them again.

We paid for Cancel for Any Reason coverage for a trip in early September to Scotland and Ireland that included our small group tour of Ireland and our nonrefundable airfare between Scotland and Ireland. When the Royal Tattoo was canceled due to Covid, we cancelled the airfare we paid for with American miles to allow other American customers access to those seats, but these airfares weren't part of our coverage. We hoped to still be able to fly to Ireland and do the tour. When we were within two to 3 weeks of our trip and Ireland still required a 2 week self quarantine because of Covid, we tried to cancel our small group tour. The tour company refused to give us a refund, but thankfully Viator did. In the end, we only filed a claim for the $200 Ryanair airfare from Scotland to Ireland which was nonrefundable. The claims department refused our claim despite our Cancel for Any Reason coverage because they said we were required to file the entire claim within 20 days of cancelling our airfare to and from Scotland/Ireland. I explained that we used miles for that and cancelled the initial flights hoping to rebook a flight to and from Ireland with miles if Ireland didn't have a quarantine at the time of our tour. They didn't care. We have bought insurance from them 3 times in the past 2 years. I asked them how it was good business to refuse a $150 claim that was the result of Covid uncertainty and lose a good customer. Again, they didn't care. We will never buy an iTravel policy again from IMG.

Had to cancel my trip for a surgical procedure. Contacting them was pretty painless and all of the follows were prompt. Instructions were pretty straight forward. Did have to submit additional than what I originally submitted but it made sense and was pretty easy to get. Took a bit longer to process because of Covid but overall excellent experience and I will absolutely purchase another policy from them.
