Another added benefit is coverage for Sports Equipment Rental coverage.

You never know how good a plan is until you have to use it. For all intents and purposes it covered my needs, but without needing to file a claim I don't know how user-friendly the company is. I've used other companies that nitpick the fine print, but didn't discover that until I had a claim. Price seemed reasonable for the coverage,

We did not need to make a claim, which was very good. However, travelling to China and Japan, from the US for 18 days, and both being fit but 72 years old, was a bit concerning. NO WORRIES WITH AXA. Three years ago, while in Sweden one of us ended up, by ambulance, in ER. All our bills were paid without question. Regardless of your age, don'the leave home without this insurance.

I had a near disaster experience with my trip being canceled by one of the sponsors. In the future, I would seriously look at the option for cancellation for any reason. Thankfully I was able to complete my trip with the tour guide and completed the trip without any adverse experiences.

It is true that there are some situations that would require the additional coverage of Cancel For Any Reason. This is one situation that Trip Cancellation for a covered reason would not protect against.
There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, most of the policies will reimburse you 75% of your trip costs, unless otherwise noted.

Our trip insurance was complicated, involving a change of date, and insuring the tour component and then adding the airfare component. All my requests were handled courteously and efficiently by knowledgable agents. There was prompt follow up confirmation by email, and revised documentation.
