Plan provided the cover I wanted at a reasonable price. I didn’t have to make a claim so cannot comment on that aspect of the policy but very happy with both price and cover. Will definitely seriously consider using this company next time.

very helpful agent in determining appropriate coverage. Having trip insurance (which I've never before considered) did provide peace of mind given the current uncertainty of travel. Since I did not need to file a claim, I am unable to comment on that aspect of the coverage

We were part of the Southwest airline debacle and ended up having to rent a car and drive 16 hours to make our cruise. This insurance was essentially useless for that purpose. We called ahead and got zero help. Nothing is guaranteed until you file a claim. Nothing is covered until you leave your house the day of your travel. It was a total waste of money. Not sure what is actually covered.

I had a little trouble reaching the Nationwide customer care team from Thailand when I caught Covid (the phone numbers that supposedly worked from anywhere in the world did not) but I once I did via email the support was excellent. Reps reached out at least twice during the week after I notified the company that I had to delay my return home to see if I needed help getting medical care (I did not) and to ask if I had to be hospitalized (I did not). They reminded me to send them specific information so they could stay on top of the case. I filed my claim for the airline rebooking fee and the extra cost of the new flight at the very end of November and received a check for the full amount claimed on January 5.

The plan gave us total piece of mind and we were able to pick a plan that handled our concerns. We never had to use the plan, but we were happy we made the purchase and considering what was going on around us with different airlines, we felt protected if we had any issues. I will definitely use insuremytrip again for future travel.

We're very glad we got the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Prime plan because we ended up getting COVID on our trip to Iceland and the plan covered and reimbursed us for the return flights we had to miss, an additional week of lodging and car rental, and new return flights.
It was hard to tell what paperwork we needed, but to be sure we got an official government PCR test and submitted the certificate we got from that as part of our claim. We filed as soon as we got back home. It took about 3 months, and then out of the blue we just got checks in the mail saying our claim was accepted. So overall, would have appreciated better documentation on what paperwork was needed, what is covered, etc, but it worked out well for us.
