HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred

The HTH Worldwide Travel Insurance TripProtector Preferred plan builds upon the Trip Protector Classic plan. The plan also offers the option to add on cancellation for any reason, if you are purchasing the insurance within 10 days of the initial trip payment and certain conditions are met. This allows you to cancel the trip for any reason up until two days before departure and receive a refund of 75% of your trip cost.

The TripProtector Preferred plan also includes trip interruption coverage, which reimburses up to 150% of the insured trip cost. The additional 50% can help to offset the cost of an emergency one-way ticket back home.

TripProtector Preferred offers medical coverage of $1,000,000, and does not require you to have primary health insurance in force to be eligible for coverage. This coverage acts secondary to any expenses that are not covered by your primary health insurance plan and helps to fill the holes to cover costs.

You are provided with a 24-hour emergency hotline that you can call for informational services, emergency assistance and concierge services. Security profiles can be obtained for your destination so that you can be well prepared wherever you may be traveling. It will allow you to stay on top of any travel alerts or health warnings that may arise before or while you are traveling.

Also, access to HTH's global community of physicians, dentists, hospitals and other healthcare providers is available. Search online to find and choose the provider that best fits your needs. You can obtain provider profiles, which give you details about the doctor, their qualifications and specialty services that they provide. This service allows you to make an informed decision if you need to seek medical attention during your trip.

The plan also includes the Direct Billing program. If you choose a provider within the HTH network and inform them 24 hours or more prior to the appointment, (or use HTH representatives to make the appointment for you) they may pay for your medical care up front. This can help you avoid a claims process.

I purchased the plan for my daughter's 10 day visit to London, Ireland, and Scotland. Thankfully, she did not have to use the plan. She had some near misses with flights and luggage which I knew the plan would cover if needed. .Most of all, I knew she would have the resources to evacuate in the event of a terrorist attack. The plan gave me great peace of mind for a very reasonable price.

The customer service agent I contacted was very responsive and helpful when I needed to see a doctor in Vietnam. I assume I won't be receiving any additional bills, and if so...I'm 100% satisfied!

Communication with the company over the email connections did not work. Tryed at least 7 to 9 times to reset password. Never did get it to work. Called the company directly, and they requested information that was not needed, and had to resend duplicate paperwork. In the end, I mailed well over 25 documents, some more than once. Finally on about the 3rd call, I walked step by step our claim. At that point, lady made more notes, but it took an additional couple of weeks to get paid. Should not have been that hard, during this difficult process, I would have liked HTH to call me, instead of their web mail, which I could not get to work. In the end, I got about 90% of what I claimed, so I guess that is ok.
