Nationwide Essential

The Essential plan is a good option for travelers who are planning trips on a budget, but don't want to sacrifice coverage. Optional coverages such as Rental Car Collision coverage, Accidental Death 24-Hour and Accidental Death Flight are available. You must purchase the plan within 10 days of your initial trip payment, insure the full pre-paid, non-refundable cost of your trip and meet all eligibility requirements to have Financial Default coverage and the Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver included on your policy.

There are many other valuable coverages included within this plan:

  • Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption to protect your financial investment
  • Baggage coverage if your bags are delayed or lost during your trip
  • Medical coverage for unexpected medical and dental emergencies
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation if the attending physician recommends that your condition warrants transportation to another hospital.
  • Assistance services that are available to you 24/7 prior to and during your trip

Because you don't know what kind of unforeseen curve balls life may throw at you, it is best to look into this plan soon after making your initial payment so that you have the most available coverage.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company worked with us and took care of us as promised when our flight was canceled. I highly recommend them.

The cost of the policy was among the best for the coverage I find most important. I had one opportunity to contact the company to get a duplicate policy. The response was quick, courteous and the document was sent to my email almost instantaneously.

Took a lot of worry off our mind. We had some serious family issues taking place. One was on the day before we were supposed to leave. Our daughter-in-law got a call that her mother was hospitalized with chest pains. So our daughter-in-law, and possibly her husband and two boys, didn't know if they were going to make this trip. Fortunately, everything worked out, but you took away a lot of the worry with us knowing you had our financial backs. Thanks!
