The TripMed plan from InsureAssist offers medical coverage for single trips that are taken outside of your home country. With this plan, you can choose the Medical limit and also the deductible amount that you are most comfortable with and that best fits your budget. There is an additional option for hazardous activities coverage which provides coverage for activities such as sky diving, bungee cord jumping and scuba diving.

I found that having the trip insurance was psychological more than anything. I did not think that I needed it, but it set me at ease knowing I had it. I would do it again.

We did not need to make a claim, so I can't comment on the reliabilty of the insurer. It was easy to purchase on-line and the price I believe was fair.

I was unable to find a review written by someone who actually filed a claim for this policy, so I read everything I could and made a choice. Having the policy gave both me and my husband (who didn't travel with me) a little extra peace of mind, but we were among the many who didn't have to use it. Was the coverage good? I'm not sure, since I didn't have to file a claim. Was the cost reasonable? I don't know, but for me the comfort of having it was worth the price.

Thankfully, we did not have to use our plan, but I sure felt better having it. It is a nice feeling to know you are covered for getting sick or injured on while on vacation! Will definitely get coverage again when traveling out of the county.

Coverage and price seemed reasonable. When going to Antarctica anything beyond what gets done on the ship is extremely expensive.

Thankfully I didn't need to file a claim. But it gave me piece of mind knowing that my husband (who is on Medicare) would have health coverage in the event that something happened while on our vacation outside of the United States.
