AXA was slow to respond to my claim. The requested supporting documents demonstrated that they had not read my claim nor had they read my plan. In fact, I was asked to provide the confirmation sheets from my own plan among the other supporting documents. It shouldn't be that difficult to file a claim on a canceled flight - it is straightforward and happens all the time. Really disappointed.

Customer service was friendly and easy to work with when I purchased the plan. Thankfully, we did not need to use our purchased travel insurance. It was a comfort to know we had additional coverage if we needed it on our trip.

The policy we took gave us the confidence to leave on our extended trip knowing that if we had to cut the trip short due to a family members illness we would be covered for any expenses incurred.

Since I did not file a claim my review is not 100% accurate. It is the service provided once a claim is necessary that matters. Thankfully I did not need to use the insurance. I felt satisfied with coverage.

The trip went smoothly but there were a few moments that could've easily turned into filing a claim.
I was glad to have the insurance during those times

I typically buy travel insurance for coverage in case we are unable to make a trip and for medical coverage while traveling. Although most policies have additional coverage I don't put much value to them as the rules are so strict and the coverage so minimal I don't view it as a useful benefit. To my surprise I ended up submitting a claim for delayed travel after a series of flight delays and cancellations extended my arrival time by more than 12 hours and resulted in having to be rerouted to a different destination. The policy covered all my costs for prepaid hotel, transfers, and tours that I missed. It was relatively easy to file the claim. AXA said it would take 30 days to process and on the 30th day I received a direct deposit for the full amount of my claim. Very pleased with the result. It is important to ready the fine print! For example, this policy requires filing a claim within 7 days (because we were in SC we had 30 days) which is really short- we wouldn't even have returned from the trip by then. And the delay had to be for 12 hours to qualify.

I couldn’t travel as I was sick. I called InsureMyTrip about Trip cancellation and they directed me to talk to AXA. I called AXA and the representative said the patient has to be hospitalized and provide comprehensive lab tests and Dr certificate for the claim. Patient has high fever and is throwing up before travel but with so much documentation and many conditions for claiming trip cancellation, this policy is not very worthwhile.
