If you are concerned about any pre-existing medical conditions that might affect your travel, this plan will waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion if purchased within 21 days of the initial trip payment and if the full cost of the trip is insured.

My only issue with the plan was that lost baggage coverage is secondary. I had the option of buying a more expensive plan with all coverage primary. It was my choice save money to go with secondary lost baggage. In the future, I think I'll stick with all primary coverage to greatly reduce the paperwork should I make a claim. Luckily, I've never needed to make a claim on any travel insurance I've ever purchased.

I fell and broke a tooth while in a remote and rural area of Thailand just a few days before my planned return to USA. I sent an email claim to Nationwide alerting them that I could not find medical assistance where I was and would get medical/dental attention the very next day that I returned to civilization(USA). I did that and then submitted the paid bill with my claim officially to the carrier. That was just rejected on the grounds that I should have gotten emergency treatment while in Thailand, which I explained was unavailable. That is unreasonable and unfair and was a sour and dissatisfied end to me doing business with you and Nationwide.

    I apologize for the inconvenience and your experience on your trip. Unfortunately, claims departments will need proof the incident happened while on your covered trip. If you did not seek treatment of any kind there is no way to certify it happened on your trip.

We disembarked from the cruise ship and discovered our flight home had been canceled due to the ice storm that closed the airport. We were delayed 3 days and InsureAssist TravCan Premier reimbursed all of our submitted expenses for those 3 days. We were pleased with their service.

On a transatlantic cruise, my husband suffered from toothache. The ship's doctor gave him antibiotic and pain meds and told him to file with trip insurance. We tried but were told that coverage was only for accident to healthy tooth. We had Premier plan which was far from premier.
