Old adage... insure only what you cannot afford to lose.
I purchased only emergency medical/evacuation insurance (not trip cancellation) and paid a fraction of what other insurance carriers were charging. What I bought was peace of mind. Thanks!

Follow up with Frontier MEDEX was required to obtain ID cards & InsureMyTrip customer service was exemplary in assisting. Not sure if I would select Frontier MEDEX again as if I needed to file a claim, I would be concerned I might need assistance from InsureMyTrip to get through to Frontier MEDEX.

I purchased my travel insurance on 6/26/13 utilizing email fulfillment to "expedite" the process. However, despite repeated emails to customer service and assurances I would obtain the actual policy info from Medex "immediately" I did not receive the actual insurance documents and ID card from Medex until 7/3/13, a week later!
While I understand InsureMytrip is the facilitator in this matter, I simply fell through the cracks while waiting for documents I should have received immediately. Bottom line, there was no basis in this situation to be happy with the poor customer service I received.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, there was a delay in transmitting policy information for FrontierMedex policies during a short period of time around the date you purchased your policy. This has now been corrected. I apologize for the frustration this delay caused, and rest assured we take matters such as this very seriously, and work with our business partners to correct them as quickly as possible.Jul 24,2013

Neither my wife nor I had to use the Frontier MEDEX TravMed Choice Outbound plan that we purchased for our month-long trip to China, so we cannot rate the plan on actual performance. However, we felt sufficiently comfortable with the published plan provisions and the reviews we read to have purchased the coverage, and we were a bit more relaxed in our travels throughout China knowing that we had the coverage should it be necessary to use it.
