As we sat on the tarmac in our home city being enveloped in a total snow whiteout, we immediately sighed a bit of a sigh of relief knowing that if we could not make our connecting flight as least we had insurance. The airport closed, we could not even taxi back to our gate. We had three hours between flights but we watched and waited as the time continued to tick on.............
The airport reopened, our flight did take off and we made the connecting flight. It just pays to be prepared for anything when traveling internationally. Too many things that are out of one's control can happen and with the costs involved, it is folly not to insure the trip.

We have used InsureMyTrip exclusively for travel for the past 14 years with one exception, and that was a costly error. We thought we had adequate insurance with another plan and that was not the case. Needless to say we will continue to utilize the wide array of insurance choices that InsureMyTrip provides. Actually I wonder about my buying plans as I got sick while traveling and thought it best to return home but could not easily determine how to do it. As it was I got drugstore meds (not recommended by local Drs here) and survived. So I wonder.

While traveling, it is advised that you have the 24/7 emergency assistance phone number provided by the insurance company with you so that if you run into a situation such as this, you can contact the insurance company for advice about how to proceed in seeking medical assistance.Apr 16,2014
