One of the things that I was after in the plan was the auto insurance. You knew that we were going to Ireland and said nothing about the fact that your auto insurance ($58.00) would NOT cover us in Ireland. I feel that I have been taken advantage of. I am EXTREMELY unhappy!

    The Crum and Forster Travel Insured policies do provide Rental Car Damage for travel in Ireland according to the following terms and conditions;

    "RENTAL CAR DAMAGE
    Applicable only when specifically requested on the original application and the appropriate additional premium has been paid and purchase confirmed on Your Confirmation of Benefits.

    You are eligible for benefits up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Confirmation of Benefits, if You rent a car while on Your Trip, and the car is damaged due to collision, theft,
    vandalism, windstorm, fire, hail, flood or any cause not in Your control while in Your possession, or the car is stolen while in Your possession and is not recovered.

    We will pay the lesser of:
    a. the cost of repairs and rental charges imposed by the rental company while the car is being repaired;
    b. the Actual Cash Value of the car; or
    c. the amount shown in the Confirmation of Benefits.

    Coverage is provided to You, provided You are a licensed driver and are listed on the rental agreement."

    Although your Certificate of Insurance indicates that you are traveling to Ireland, your rental car company did not accept the policy as proof of Rental Car Damage insurance and forced you to purchase the coverage from them. Perhaps they insisted on you purchasing the coverage because it included liability coverage which we cannot provide.

    Although we regret that you are extremely unhappy with the decision, travel insurance providers do not delete coverage or refund premium after your departure date.

Generali Global Assistance Preferred
The Government shut down travel to Ireland. This company refused to return my $400+ premium because of their 10 day free look period. All was well at ten days but ended the trip after that. No cooperation from this company on returning the premium. I would recommend no one do buisness with this company!

As stated in our policy documents, our plans only reimburse for non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason. Generali Global Assistance plans do not offer coverage if you cancel your trip due to fear of traveling due to Coronavirus, unless you added Trip Cancellation for Any Reason coverage. C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I purchased your plan because of car rental insurance for Ireland, after arriving at car rental in Dublin, with copies of entire plan, the rental company said we needed an email specifying coverage in Ireland. I phoned your company and was told they could not do that and gave me another number to call, after being told to call several numbers, with no success we had to pay $400.00 to the car rental for Their insurance, I am very disappointed and upset with your company for not simply emailing a simple confirmation of coverage in Ireland

    We are sorry to hear that the car rental agent in Ireland would not accept this policy as proof of insurance. We do not have a history of this problem with car rental coverage in most countries and certainly apologize in wasting your time with several phone calls.

    However, the Rental Car Collision - Loss offered by your policy does not include auto liability coverage. Since car rental agents in Ireland require liability coverage, the 400.00 USD insurance charge most likely included auto liability insurance which our plans cannot provide.

John Hancock Gold
I had a urgent medical surgery April 8, 2016 followed by complications requiring a second surgery April 18, 2016 preventing me from traveling on May 23, 2016 to Ireland. My claim was ultimately denied because we had decided to rebook this trip after my second surgery to a time 4 months later to limit costs to John Hancock Insurance as well as ourselves from the policy value of $10,000 down to $840 for rebooking fees. Because we rebooked after we cancelled, John Hancock denied the request for $840 rebooking costs and said they would have paid $10,000 if we didn't rebook. So much for being a responsible traveler trying to do the right thing. I will advise EVERYONE not to use Seven Corners administration which handled the John Hancock plan. If you choose another plan that uses Seven Corners, WATCH OUT!! Most unfair business practice I have ever experienced in my 66 years.

I feel totally cheated. We purchased the "Cancel For Any Reason" plan because our daughter's work situation was so uncertain that there was possibility that she might not make to the trip up to the last minute. It turns out that plan has a "fine print" that a cancellation must be made 48 hours before the scheduled departure, which was never brought to my attention while I was considering purchasing it. As a result we missed the "48 hours" window and we did not get a coverage at all. If it requires two days advance notice, it is not really a "cancel for any reason" plan. Additionally this critical requirement should have been printed large and clear on up of the policy, the notice email and the insurance certificate, instead of hidden amoung the sea of words and have people miss it easily.

When I called RoamRight to report that my daughter did not get on the plane, the customer service representative apparently was not aware of this requirement either. She suggested that this was not a problem, and I would be reimbursed of the 75% of cost.

In short this was a terrible experience. I will find a way to post this to a larger audience so that others don't make the same mistake as i did.

    The criteria for Cancel for Any Reason coverage is displayed on page three of the policy document – available for your viewing on InsureMyTrip prior to purchasing -- as well as linked to the Cancel for Any Reason coverage description on the InsureMyTrip purchase page. Your claim was adjusted according to the terms of your policy.

    We are a little perplexed by the account of your call in which one of our representatives may have provided you with contradictory information regarding the 48 hour Cancel for Any Reason cancellation period. Our representatives have been trained on the policy coverages. If you have any additional details regarding this phone call – who you spoke to or when you called – we will be more than happy to investigate further.

If you don't have a need to file a claim, this insurance policy is probably fine. If you're unlucky enough to have to file a claim, as we were, be prepared for an expensive and lengthy battle (7 months, in our case), and likely the involvement of an attorney, to get the insurance carrier to pay the policy benefits for which you've paid a very expensive premium. My recommendation: stay away from this insurance carrier at all costs!

      Debra, you are correct that the benefits were eventually paid. However, it took 7 months and about $2,000 in attorney's fees to get the insurer to read its own policy and pay accordingly. I believe that my review of this company is fair and accurate.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
It was difficult for me find an easy cheat sheet on my phone of what would we covered or to have a handy proof of coverage page for traveling. I ended up just printing some clunky email to take with but it wasn't smooth or convenient.

The purchase confirmation is a one page document which includes the purchase details, contact information, and schedule of benefits. My experience with filing my claim was far from satisfactory. The customer service was impossible to reach and when they were reached, very poor service. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!
In the future I will consider that a reasonable price is no guarantee of hood service.

This is just to let you know that while we were satisfied that almost all of the claim we made was reimbursed - the tedious process of the entire thing was very distressing.
Back and forth requests for information became aggravating. Why not say up front all the documentation you need - instead of piecemeal requests?
AND- if it is quite clear that the flight was delayed and we did NOT arrive on the day scheduled...isn't it obvious that we were NOT at the hotel that night and had to pay for it anyway?
It took so long for this claim to settle- I would never use IMG again.
