I never went on the trip filed a claim with Doctors letter etc. No response from Global Assistance and they did nothing except kept my money to them. A scam do not use them.

We filed a small claim (under $500) for lost luggage, and you denied it. Your product is a scam and your company is a sham if you won’t pay out a small claim for 4 days worth of clothing. Shame on you.

Nothing of consequence happened so we never made a claim. Price was lower than many other offers though I still think that charging 5% of the cost of our trip for insurance was unreasonably high.

The insurance providers will use a few pieces of personal information to calculate the cost of a Comprehensive plan: the ages of the travelers, the number of travelers, the length of travel, and the cost of the trip. Unfortunately, the cost of plan coverage becomes prohibitive the older one becomes. In addition, you must buy duplicate coverage for things such as lost baggage which is likely covered by other policies you already own. It is however, the only option available if you want travel insurance. It just should be more fair and allow one to cherry pick the coverage that is necessary in order to reduce costs.

    Thank you very much for your comments. You were correct when stating that plans do get more expensive as you get older since premiums are calculated based on the age of the traveler, cost of trip and length of trip. However, most companies including John Hancock do allow you to "cherry pick" by offering you various levels of coverage at lower rates. You chose to purchase the John Hancock Gold plan which is their most comprehensive plan. For most travel situations, John Hancock also offered a Basic and Silver plan at lower premiums.

Insurance is one of those necessary evils. We didn't need to file a claim with Global Alert, which is good, but it makes you feel like the $1800 was wasted. Of course, it wasn't, because IF we had had a problem, we were covered which is what insurance is for, but I don't know how good the coverage or service actually would have been since we didn't need to file any kind of claim.

Submitted claim in October, 2017 and nothing happened. I called in January, 2018 and one of your customer service agents - Heidi investigated and apparently got it moving through your system. To her credit, Heidi called me on February1st to see if I had received my refund. It had just arrived the day before.

Process was way too slow.
