Bought the plan before our trip to the Bahamas. Had no clue there was a storm about to turn into a hurricane when I purchased it. Read the fine print and it says you have to purchase the plan before the hurricane is named and I guess that had happened the week before. Lost two days of vacation and this plan did not cover it.

    We are sorry to learn that you had lost 2 days of your trip. For most policies, coverage would only apply if the reason you file a claim is considered unforeseen at the time of purchase. Once a storm or hurricane is known, coverage on a new policy would be reduced or no longer apply for a claim related.

I had to repeatedly submit documentation and when I tried to call and speak with an agent, I was not able to contact anyone. It was a very difficult process and not easy to submit what was requested. I would not recommend this company in the future.

It's all good until it's time to file a claim. Then they want to say they don't cover illness. My son (who I had insured) got sick on our cruise ship and now ArchIns is saying they aren't the primary. Our medical doesn't cover out of the country which is the reason we purchased travel insurance. This company is a complete joke and I'll never purchase through them again.

    The plan that you purchased provides excess medical coverage, which means a claim for any illness or medical treatment must be filed with your primary medical provider first. This way, we have proof of any payment from your primary provider and are able to reimburse the remaining expenses. If your primary insurance provider does not provide coverage for this type of claim, we would still need proof of their $0 payment.

I asked for my dates to be extended and paid the additional fee but never received a confirmation. I called several times and was told the company has major technology failures and were behind in their emailing. I still haven't received a confirmation and we are almost back home. I even called halfway through my trip and the problem still wasn't fixed. Good thing we had no problems except with this company.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
Mechanical difficulties by US Airways delayed my plane 4.5 hours, forcing me to miss the departure of my 3-day cruise. It turns out, mechanical difficulties is not a covered reason, which is absolutely insane not to have that as a covered reason. I lost out on the entire cruise fare due to this. There was no way to know in advance this was a real possibility to have recognized that it was not a covered reason. The policy was useless.

Unfortunately, the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Cruise plans do not cover mechanical breakdown for trip cancellation or missed connection. There is Travel Delay coverage due to any delay of a Common Carrier, provided that the delay is at-least 6 consecutive hours. We apologize for any confusion regarding the policy terms and conditions. We recommend that customers review the policy certificate to familiarize themselves with covered reasons and exclusions. In addition, InsureMyTrip's licensed insurance agents are available 7 days a week to answer questions about our products. In the future, please consider calling us prior to purchasing a policy. Other comprehensive policies offered on our website, cover trip cancellation and/or missed connection due to mechanical breakdown of a common carrier.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
This trip insurance policy proved to be a waste of money. I had used this company before, but this was the first time I had ever tried to make a claim. I had a dental emergency and was unable to take my connecting flight home due to the cabin pressure making the pain unbearable on the first leg of my journey home. I rang Customer Service who indicated that I would be covered under the interrupt for any reason clause of the policy for my family and I staying in a hotel overnight and meals. I immediately went to the ER and was given antibiotics and an injection for the pain as it was the evening and all dentists were shut, and I ended up seeing an emergency dentist the next day. I had a fractured tooth and jaw bone infection. Under the dental listing on my policy it stated that I would be covered up to $750.

Well nearly two weeks later after submitting loads of paper work and receipts that were requested my claims were denied. Guess what, apparently interrupt for any reason didn't actually cover my emergency overnight accommodation and meals at all, their agent had been misinformed. I was very lucky in that my flight carrier changed my flights at no extra charge so I was able to resume my travel home at no extra expense. Then apparently dental only covers 'natural teeth' and as the tooth that started it all had a crown on it was not covered. FYI, any tooth that has had any type of work on it, filling etc. is no longer considered a natural tooth so isn't covered. I paid more for what I had hoped would be a good policy, but in the end it literally didn't cover me for anything at all when i needed it.

I purchased this plan for 2 main reasons. 1. My daughter has some medical issues and if she had a problem and we had to cancel. 2. as we were cruising during hurricane season and had to cancel or were rerouted because of a storm. I purchased cancel for any reason protection. There was a hurricane and when I called 3 days before cruise left to see if I could cancel they said no because we had to cancel 2 days before we left home. We left home a week before the cruise and spent time in a hotel in Florida, there is no way to predict where a hurricane was going that far in advance. We went on the cruise got seasick, missed the ports we were supposed to go to, and general had a lousy time. Spent $ on coverage that we couldn't use when we needed it. Very dissapointing.

    Cancel for Any Reason is a benefit that must be used at least 2 days prior to the day you leave your home. Once you have left on your trip, it is no longer an option.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
With the recent COVID-19 epidemic, I called to see if my policy would cover me if I became ill while traveling with this virus. I was on hold for over an hour and the phone system requested my name and said they would call me back. That was several days ago and I have not received a call to answer my question. I understand that these are extraordinary times, but this is a fail and makes me question the trustworthiness of this company.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare Value
The plan would have been perfect for my cruise.
However, my cruise got cancelled due to COVID travel restrictions and the travel insurance did not accept the cruise company's letter of cancellation as proof / eligible document to cancel the trip insurance.
