Fortunately, we did not have the need to file a claim! The cost of this plan was 1/2 to 1/3 less than the cost of the plan offered by our travel provider and seemed to cover the same major concerns we had--cancellation and medical coverage.

In future I would pay for the "cancellation for any reason" coverage. We had to change our plans due to issues at the location that didn't qualify as "terrorism" or a covered event, so coverage wasn't available. The tour company made it up to us, but if they hadn't we would have been out extra expenses without insurance. My bad, not the companies.

I don't have any claim, so I really can't say much about the plan. One of our friends uses the Global Alert and they had the claims. They are very satisfied with Global Alert. Hope that I don't have to file a claim. However, if I do, I am sure that I should get the same service.

We, fortunately, did not need to use the plan. We were traveling for 2 months in remote areas of Nepal and needed both standard trip insurance in case of loss or flight delays, as well as evacuation insurance. This policy provided both at a very competitive price. I also called the company to verify the evacuation insurance coverage and they were helpful and quick in providing the needed information.
