We did not have to file a claim. I did refer this plan to a few people on this trip and as they are frequent travelers, and are older and money is a factor, they are anxious to have this opportunity. So they will be contacting you for future trips.

I purchased travel insurance, including a cancel-for-any-reason rider, with April Travel Protection. When circumstances required me to use the insurance, the staff at April Travel handled my phone calls and e-mails promptly, professionally, politely, and kindly. The requirements to file a claim were clearly explained, and forms were emailed to me immediately thereafter. Upon submission, the paperwork was addressed quickly, and a check was received by me in less than 30 days. With other events occurring in life, it was a relief to have our insurance claim handled so expertly by such a reputable and reliable company. The company's tier 1 and some of their supervisors need some training, are inexperienced, and need to be better at how to deal with plan questions such as terrorist clause to better understand if your covered when traveling to a foreign country where a terrorist act occurs before traveling. Best course of action is talk to there manager. They need to do a better job at answering plan questions before buying.

We understand you spoke with our Customer Service Department about the terrorist attack that took place in Nice France in July of this year. The plans you were inquiring about can provide coverage in the event of a Terrorist Act that occurs in the city from which you are scheduled to depart or in a city to which you are scheduled to travel, provided the act occurs within 30 days of your scheduled departure date. That city also cannot have experienced a Terrorist Act in the 30 days prior to your coverage going into effect in order for coverage to be available. Our Customer Service Manager was able to confirm that we defined the attack in Nice on July 14th as a Terrorist Act and that no additional attacks have occurred in Nice France since that time.
