My cell phone was stolen while changing trains in Naples Italy. We reported this to the ticket office and filled out a report but did not have time to get a copy. When I filed a claim for it, AXA wanted a police report which, being back in the states, could not be obtained. I showed them emails suspending my service with Verizon and having Samsung disable my phone. You can not talk to an adjuster just someone in customer service and they can only read your file to you. I paid over $600 for the insurance and was only asking to be reimbursed $175. BAD, BAD!!!

Unfortunately, when filing a claim for stolen personal effects, a police report is required as stated in the benefit description of your policy. In the future, you may call us during your trip so we may assist you in clarifying policy benefits and with the claims process prior to incurring additional costs. We sincerely hope you will consider us again for future travels."
This is an industry standard procedure regarding stolen personal property with travel insurance.

We did not need to use the plan but had to last year. I had a serious injury and it was comforting to know that both insure my trip folks and AXA were there when it was needed. I insure all our trips with AXA through Insure my trip.

I took the "cancel for any reason" trip insurance due to my medical conditions, my dog's, and my 90 year-old mother that lives with me. No one really knows what can happen, but having the insurance gave me peace of mind. I did encounter a missed flight due to the cruise scheduling my disembarkment too late and then having a 4 hour delayed flight and missing a connection, but Alaska Air made it right to get me home and had my luggage FED EXd to my home the next day so I didn't need the insurance. But these kind of things happen and would have been a disaster if the flights messed up on the first day of my vacation! Then I would have needed the insurance. I'm definitely buying it the next vacation I take.

Our trip insurance was complicated, involving a change of date, and insuring the tour component and then adding the airfare component. All my requests were handled courteously and efficiently by knowledgable agents. There was prompt follow up confirmation by email, and revised documentation.
