A week before leaving on a 3 week trip to Japan I suffered an accident that required surgery and was obliged to cancel the trip. Everyone I spoke to prior to filing the claim was delightful and helpful. The forms were not difficult to fill out nor was the supporting documentation that is required unreasonable. The claim was promptly acknowledged and processed within the stated timeframe (about 30 days). Payment will be prompt and comprehensive. I am very highly satisfied and would recommend this plan. It is a good value for the cost and allows me to rebook the trip next year.

This trip included an expensive 2 week bus trip. With all of the driving, hotel changing, walking, and the fact the trip cost was non-refundable, I wouldn't have gone without insurance. This policy was extremely comprehensive and gave me peace of mind. I'm extremely glad that we had it. Another traveler had an accident resulting in a non-displaced fracture of the fibula and she hobbled on a make-shift walking bandage for 2 weeks because she didn't have travel insurance for either proper care, return home, or reimbursement.

The AXA plan provided higher levels of coverage at about half the cost of the plan offered by the Cruise line. Since we did not need to use the plan we do not know how difficult it would have been to actually collect. Communication with AXA before the trip was excellent and the plan disclosures were easy to read and understand.
