I bought Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus insurance for 4 trips, 2 of which I had to cancel. Note that WWTPP has "Cancel for any Reason" coverage, whereas many other plans do not. Anyway, the claims process was reasonable and the paperwork was not excessive. In both cases, I was very careful to follow the directions for the claims process exactly. In both cases, they requested a bit of extra info after the initial claim, and once I provided this, they paid without issues. I don't remember exactly how much time it took from filing the claim to getting the payment. It might have been 4-5 weeks total.
To make the claims process go smoothly:
- Keep all receipts and correspondence you get while booking the trip
- Claim any refunds due from hotels, charters. Keep receipts for refunds also. The trip insurance only pays un-refunded amounts.
- You will probably be required to cancel your airline tickets and include a letter stating that you do not plan to re-use them
- Follow the directions exactly

I booked an Apple vacation, which would provide their own insurance for a fee similar to C&F Travel Insurance BUT not with the extra medical coverage amount and medical evacuation coverage. This plan was very reasonable. I highly recommend. We’ve traveled to Mexico in the past, and ended up in the hospital. You don’t want to be their uninsured!

I had to cancel my trip due to medical reasons and the refund should have been straightforward but was significantly delayed. I kept being given excuses why my claim was not being paid and why additional documents were needed. I was told that American Airlines had refunded my non-refundable airline ticket, which was not true. I also was told that I sought medical treatment in an untimely manner, which also was not true. I provided extra documentation beyond what should have been required and my claim was finally paid two months later. I felt that they were looking for reasons to deny the claim and hoping I would just drop it.

I had a major event a year and a half ago. This company uses On Call International for medical evacuation. My wife made one phone call to this company and they took over. They just didn't take care of my medical issues but also helped us recover our luggage from the resort. After we submitted our bills and the money was paid back to us without any issues. On our recent trip, we were comforted to know that we have these companies looking after us if something did occur. Five stars isn't high enough to state how great these companies are.
