Never explained to me was the fact that this is SECONDARY insurance. You must file a claim with some other medical insurance to collect (and then be denied). Further, they require so much documentation to even consider a claim, that I felt that it was not worthwhile to file one, even though I had one. Summary: very disappointing. Advice: ask in advance if travel insurance is primary or secondary, and what documentation is required to file a claim.

Thankfully, I didn't have to use the insurance even though we sailed during Hurricane Irma. But it was nice to know I had it.

I have been purchasing travel insurance for over 20 years and finally had to use it for a very small claim (missed one hotel night because of a one day flight delay for a three week trip). It was very difficult to get answers over the phone. As expected, lots of paperwork and bureaucracy. Eventually, the full amount was paid.

Once again, thank goodness I did not have to use it, but always purchase trip insurance for that just in case. You never know when it will happen.

Even though I didn't need to use the insurance, I came very close. Went to medical during my cruise for an injury. Didn't need to think twice about whether I could afford to go because I knew I had insurance to cover the visit. Triage nurse decided I really didn't need to be seen by the doc and therefore there was no charge. Was reassuring though that if I needed treatment it would have been covered.
