Was hospitalized for food poisoning. Had to first file a claim with health insurance to determine was travel insurance would pay. Lots of documentation that I didn't have such as invoice for airline ticket purchased in foreign country. Luckily, when I asked for it through the credit card company and the airline didn't respond, the credit card company treated it as a disputed charge and gave me a credit.
Just make sure that you get every kind of documentation you can when you are there such as hospital records, receipts for cab rides, etc!

Same coverage and half the price; glad I had no reason to make a claim but as with any insurance, really better to have the protection when it is needed. Made the trip much more enjoyable without the stress.

We had no problems during the trip so did not use the insurance so have no way of knowing if the plan would have covered everything the way we thought it should nor do we have any way to judge the service provided had we needed to collect on a claim. Buying the insurance on the internet was a breeze.

The cost was very reasonable for the cover. It was good to have a plan and feel secure while traveling. There were two persons in our cruise that had a heart attack and needed to be transported out. Having this plan made me feel secure that if something happens to us we would be cover adequately. I will certainly buy this plan for my future traveling needs. Thanks!

Initially I rejected the idea of trip insurance for a two-week cruise, but upon the advice of friends who had had unexpected crises arise, I decided to look into low-cost coverage. We recommend that you visit the travel insurer's website before you travel and review the claims information provided. Along with including claim forms for you to complete and submit, Generali also provides you with a list other documents that may be needed when submitting a claim. Please just remember that documentation varies depending upon the type of claim you're filing and depending upon the event that resulted in your loss.
