I continue to believe travel insurance is too costly for the benefits provided, and I wish we had more choices for coverage than we do. For example, reducing the medical coverage, which many tour groups now provide, would greatly reduce the cost.

Very disappointed in General Global Assistance and its deceptive marketing. We included and paid for "Cancel For Any Reason" except for a "listed covered event" in our coverage. We cancelled it per our own personal misgivings about Covid circumstances. While there were pandemic warnings about international travel, there were no restrictions about our travel.

This was misleading business, and we're very dissatisfied with the company's performance. Not only will we never use it again, it should be a warning to any members of the traveling public who may ever consider employing General Global Assistance.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased includes a variety of different covered events under which we can provide coverage if you are forced to cancel your trip. The plan is unfortunately unable to provide coverage for every event that might cause you to cancel. If there is something specific that you want to be sure is covered, feel free to ask about it before you purchase the policy. The Government shut down travel to Ireland. This company refused to return my $400+ premium because of their 10 day free look period. All was well at ten days but ended the trip after that. No cooperation from this company on returning the premium. I would recommend no one do buisness with this company!

As stated in our policy documents, our plans only reimburse for non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason. Generali Global Assistance plans do not offer coverage if you cancel your trip due to fear of traveling due to Coronavirus, unless you added Trip Cancellation for Any Reason coverage. To see if you qualify for a voucher that may be applied to travel at a future date, please visit generalitravel.com/voucher. It is important that you review your Description of Coverage, which are available before and after your purchase. I have never had to file a claim so can’t speak to that end. The purchase process was easy, but the cost of the plans were fairly expensive. Those of us who have never filed a claim should get a break on the price.
