Although the fine print of the policy would eliminate my claim, I must emphasize that the coverage such as Trip Delays are very limited and failed to pay for late receipt of luggage by the airline during transfer and clearance through customs. This cost us over $300 and was excluded by the coverage. One previous claim was also not paid by CSA and this makes me question their real concern for fair coverage of the client versus their desire for greater profit as a company. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TRY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND EVERY WORD OF THE COVERAGE BEFORE ENROLLING.

To further help ensure customer satisfaction, we also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. Unfortunately, the plan you purchased is not able to provide coverage for every event that might cause your trip to be interrupted or delayed, though it does include approximately 20 different covered events that can qualify for Trip Interruption coverage and approximately 10 different covered events that can qualify for Travel Delay coverage (depending on your state of residence). We understand your trip was delayed due to receiving your luggage late in your connecting city. Unfortunately this is not a covered reason for either coverage. The company's tier 1 and some of their supervisors need some training, are inexperienced, and need to be better at how to deal with plan questions such as terrorist clause to better understand if your covered when traveling to a foreign country where a terrorist act occurs before traveling. Best course of action is talk to there manager. They need to do a better job at answering plan questions before buying.

    Thank you for your feedback. While we appreciate your positive rating we’re concerned we did not meet your expectations as we strive to provide excellent service to all of our customers. We understand you spoke with our Customer Service Department about the terrorist attack that took place in Nice France in July of this year. The plans you were inquiring about can provide coverage in the event of a Terrorist Act that occurs in the city from which you are scheduled to depart or in a city to which you are scheduled to travel, provided the act occurs within 30 days of your scheduled departure date. That city also cannot have experienced a Terrorist Act in the 30 days prior to your coverage going into effect in order for coverage to be available. Our Customer Service Manager was able to confirm that we defined the attack in Nice on July 14th as a Terrorist Act and that no additional attacks have occurred in Nice France since that time. Thankfully I didn't need to use the insurance. However, I have had to use it in the past, and the costs were prohibited. I could not travel contentedly without insurance.

Wife got sick and had to go to the hospital in Rome. The travel assistance company directed us to the proper place to go for her exam and treatment. Very helpful.

We purchased CSA Travel Protection Custom plan through InsureMyTrip for our two week trip to Europe. The flight, high speed train, and cruise purchases were all heavily discounted and were not transferable or refundable. In addition, we booked hotel rooms in Milan and Rome.

My husband got violently ill the evening before we were to start our trip back home. We were scheduled to leave our Rome hotel the next morning to take a high speed train to catch our flight back home. Everything had been arranged and paid for months in advance.

I called CSA the evening my husband got sick. At that point, I was not sure if he would feel well enough to travel. They started a claim and asked me to call in the morning. I called them back at 4am because he was still too sick to travel home. Unbelievably, CSA sent an English speaking doctor directly to the hotel. The doctor arrived about 8 am. He gave my husband a shot for the immediate symptoms, and wrote a number of prescriptions. The doctor was paid for by CSA so we were not charged for his visit.

Ultimately, we missed our train trip to Milan, our flight home, and had to spend another night at the Rome hotel. After a number of calls, CSA arranged our flight home from Rome the next day. Since my husband’s flight home was considered part of the Medical part of the insurance policy and mine was Travel Delay, they paid for his flight home, but I had to pay $2,000 for my flight, and submit later for reimbursement.

I decided to wait until after reimbursement before I wrote this review. The bottom line is that CSA fully reimbursed us for everything including the cell phone calls to and from their office, the train trip from Rome to Milan, the taxi ride to the Rome airport, and the flight home. They also fully reimbursed us for the extra night in the hotel and for meals on the extra day. The total reimbursement was about $3000. Since the policy cost about $187, it was one of the best purchases that I ever made. I would highly recommend CSA. With the exception of a little bit of confusion arranging our last minute flight home, everyone I spoke to was efficient, helpful and professional. The claim was handled perfectly without any questioning or argument.
