Thankfully, I had no need for the insurance on this trip, but I had the peace of mind of having it if the need arose! I will purchase insurance through InsureMyTrip for my next vacation.

I have used CSA for a few trips now. They are priced well, and the one time I needed to call on CSA services they handled it beautifully.

Luckily we did not need to use the insurance, but I would recommend that anybody traveling outside the US to purchase travel insurance, especially if there are connecting flights.

luckily nothing happened and we are home safe. Another person though had a 2 night hospital stay and no insurance.

This was an exceptionally costly trip and we had to book 2 months in advance so I did the insurance coverage. Normally we travel as a couple not tied to a group so we do not insure - we do not have to prepay everything. I was surprised that several people I spoke with had not done travel insurance. One couple that did had had a previous tragic experience and had to cancel at the last minute and lost all their money now regularly buy insurance.

I don't know the ratio of claims and payments made, but I would think that it's quite low in comparison to the limited time/scope of the policy.
