I took out the insurance just in case, but didn't need to use it as all went well with our trip. The insurance fee was reasonable and my dealings with the company were fine.

I had to replace my wife with my son prior to the trip. While it was somewhat tedious, I was able to remove my wife from our policy and take out a new policy for my son. The net cost was lower due to the reduction in age. The rep at the company was very helpful.

My wife fell and injured herself on the way to the airport for our trip. She needed to be hospitalized and so we were unable to make the trip. The injury was covered under the plan and we were eventually paid. To get paid, we had to get doctor's reports and validation of rentals paid directly from the owner of the property even though I had paperwork indicating that the payments I had made were non-refundable. We did get reimbursed, but it took a while. We were glad we had taken out the policy.

This was the most reasonably priced plan I could find. Luckily we didn't need to use this, but it was nice to know that we were covered while walking in Portugal.
