Being stranded in Paris when my airline ticket was rejected, CSA was the only help I could get. The customer service rep (Lisa) calmed my anxiety, put me in contact with the proper person I needed to issue a new ticket, the following day, set me up with a claim form for a hotel and meal, then called my wife to reassure her. I am very grateful.

While we are offered several trip insurance options when booking travel, we always choose a plan from Insure My Trip as they are more inclusive and benefits don't "disappear" as time goes on (in some cases, by the time you get to the trip, there are no benefits left.) We are grateful not to have had to use the benefits provided by Insure My Trip carriers, but also grateful to know we have the coverage if/when it were to be needed.

The only reason I rated 4* instead of 5 is that I had no reason to file a claim so can't evaluate that part of the service. But the signup process was quick and efficient; communications with me were excellent; the policy language clear and easy to understand. Although I did not need to use the insurance, it was a comfort knowing it was available and positive reviews from other past customers gave me assurance that a claim would have been handled properly had I needed it.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I love InsureMyTrip as it permits comparison of all components of travel insurance plans in one place. CSA often offers higher levels of coverage for similar or lower price than other companies, so I often choose CSA for my travel insurance. Although I did not need to file a claim for this most recent trip (thank goodness!), I have had to file a claim with CSA in the past, about 2.5 years ago. The claim process was seamless and my claim (trip cancellation) was covered without any hassles. Consequently, I do not hesitate to use CSA for my travel insurance needs.

If you are considering this company, make sure you fully understand their definition of 'pre-existing conditions'. This company has a 180 look-back history. I didn't know what that meant until I had to file a claim and was denied. Here's what look-back means: any condition evaluated or treated 180 days PRIOR to purchase. "Underlying conditions" is also part of this definition. I lost a lot of $$$ not fully understanding the definitions. Next time I have to buy travel insurance, I will DEFINITELY go to great lengths to understand every aspect of the policy.

Our Custom Luxe plan can provide coverage for such losses provided the plan is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of final trip payment, if other requirements outlined in the Description of Coverage/Policy are met. Did not have to use the insurance (thank goodness) so don't know how effective it would have been. I would use your insurance again for another trip because it seemed reasonable and comprehensive. I don't think your star rating system is quite an accurate way to rate in my circumstances.
