This plan does require you to have primary health insurance in place, but there is no exclusion for pre-existing conditions. Purchasing this insurance prior to my trip gave me the confidence that I was being wise and that even if something happened I would be covered and it wouldn't become a devastating occurrence. I knew as soon as I bought the insurance that everything would be absolutely perfect and that's exactly what happened. I will buy this insurance again when I travel next year because it just brought me so much comfort to know it was there and in place if I needed it. So if you're on the fence about the need to buy it, having the confidence that the policy brings is priceless

Good to know it was there if I did need to file a claim. My mother did need it once, and they were excellent. I've made sure to buy it for every trip since, and hope I never will need to use it.
