Staff at Insuremytrip acted as a middleman, contacting the insurance company to facilitate some response. Insuremytrip staff were responsive and they report global alert says it should have been here last week. Mind you, it is only for a hundred odd dollars and the claim was filed months ago. The form is cumbersome and repetitive and laborious to complete, both the computerized form you have to fill out to ask to enter a claim as well as the claim itself.

My wife has a mostly controlled medical condition. The reason you did not pay for our needed cancellation is, in my opinion, buried on page 12 of 14 of your policy. I'm out the money for the trip and the money I paid your company. This is not the type of policy one should buy on line.

I could have used my own medical plan for Alaska. I was only out of the country 2 days and someone should have recommended something cheaper. It was too costly for what I needed. Now I know differently.

While it is true your primary health care provider may have been able to provide coverage during the U.S. portion of your trip, the Global Alert Preferred plan you purchased is a comprehensive package plan that offers much more than medical care and provides you coverage from the moment you leave your home until the moment you return back to your home. The Global Alert Preferred policy offers Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Baggage Loss, Baggage Delay, Travel Delay, Emergency Medical, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Financial Default, and a Pre-Existing Condition Waiver. Additionally, premium is typically within the range of 4-10% of the trip cost and is determined by the following factors: the length of the trip, the cost of the trip, and the ages of the travelers. Did not need to file a claim so cannot rate that part of Global Alert. Prices were competitive. Medical and evacuation parts of the policy were primary coverage which is important to me. If one does not know the difference between primary and secondary coverage, they should put forth the effort to learn what it means.

I had a medical problem which prevented me from going on my vacation. When I called Global to cancel my plan I was told I had to cancel within two weeks of my signing up. I called over a month before my trip and was shocked by the refusal to cancel my trip insurance since I was not going on my trip and would not file a claim. This is bad customer relations and I will find another trip insurer in the future.

    You may cancel insurance under the Policy by giving Us or Our Administrator written notice within the first to occur of the
    following: (a) 14 days from the Effective Date; or (b) Your Scheduled Departure Date. If You do this, We will refund Your
    premium paid provided You have not filed a claim under the Policy.

    Unfortunately, it appears that your request to cancel and refund the policy was made outside of the 14 day review period. Please call us at 800-487-4722 if you have any questions or concerns.

We were fortunate enough to have no health issues on our trip,but our friend had a problem and had to see the ship's Doctor. We were all relieved that we had insurance just in case.

On a previous trip I had to file a claim which was handled quickly with no problem. No claim this trip but peace of mind knowing I had the insurance.

    Your last trip, which experienced the claim, was insured through a different provider that was also available with InsureMyTrip. However, you would have been as happy with the service and care provided by Global Alert should you have experienced another claim.
