The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
I had a claim that was complicated because I had problems at both the beginning and end of my trip. The problems at the end became complicated because of steps I had to take at the beginning to get to my cruise. I had a little trouble filling out the claim forms, but sent a cover letter and they sorted it out and covered almost every thing I thought they would. There was one denied item that I didn't understand, but since they went over the max amounts that I thought they would cover I was very happy. The only problem was that my claim seemed to get hung up and I didn't get a response as fast I should have. When I called they expedited it and all was well.

6% of the Total cost of the trip is pretty expensive.
2 months is a long time to wait for reimbursement.
MUST CALL rather than track your claim online ....customer service representatives are quite competent and willing to assist!
I believe the settlement was very fair. Just be aware that booking fees and cancellation fees incurred with a wholesaler (in this case United Cruises) are not covered. Our uncovered amount was only $125.00. I would suggest booking directly with a cruise line or airline in order not to incur these charges.

We had to extend our return trip for several days. I was surprised that there was no way to extend our travel insurance. That would be a good feature to add.
