The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
Fortunately we did not have a need for anything covered by the policy but it was good to know that it was there in case something would have happened. We made reservations for a cruise a long time in advance of the trip and it was good to know that if something unexpected happened we would not have been out the money for the trip.

The price and coverage was fantastic. However, like with any insurance policy, you only find out how good the coverage is when you actually file a claim and how well it is processed. Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim.

After doing a bit of research online we selected this company and policy over trip coverage offered by our tour provider. Based on the review we did, this policy seemed to provide significantly better coverage at a lower cost than others we looked at.

While no one wants to collect on travel insurance, it really is a must for travel abroad and can save you a lot of money should you have an accident or illness. Our claim was processed and we received full reimbursement for our medical treatment and prescription medicine. There is a lot of paperwork that must be submitted with a claim, so keep that in mind and be sure to keep all of your records---ticket purchases, reservations, and airline boarding passes, to submit with a medical claim. When getting treatment make sure the doctor makes note of the diagnosis and lists his address/contact information. Reimbursement took about 6 weeks after claim was submitted. We would recommend Global Alert and will not hesitate to use them again when we travel.
