The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
I did not get to use the coverage, however, I was very satisfied with the coverage and pricing especially regarding recreational scuba diving. Contacting them by phone was also very easy and friendly as well as professional to clarify coverage for recreational diving. As mentioned I did not have a claim so I can not comment on how well a claim might be handled.

I did not make this trip! Prior to the departure, I canceled, which you state in the policy, c complete refund. I was advised of a refund of only a few dollars. Not worth pursuing. Not good!

Thank you for your feedback. Here is the refund information per the certificate of your policy:
"You have the right to cancel the Policy at any time by giving advance notice to Our Agent or Us (stating when thereafter the cancellation shall be effective). We will refund any unearned premium to You within 10 days of cancellation."
Since your policy was effective for the trip cancellation benefit for approximately one year, the pro-rated refund was just a fraction of the entire premium.

Happily, we had no claim this trip...we are repeat customers and just feel safer when we have the travel insurance. We believe that if you can't afford the travel insurance, you can't afford your trip.

Primary medical is a great feature as is your choice of hospital if you to be evacuated.
These two features are not offered by many other travel insurance policies.

I've purchased many Global Alert plans over the years and never had to make a claim until this May. I must say, the process was smooth and I received my check about 6 weeks after filing. I can finally actually "rate" them as very good for their service.
Before when I was asked to rate them and had no claim, I had no idea what to say! I'll keep buying Global Alert now that I know how well they handle claims. Thank you!

Global Alert did almost nothing on my claim until someone from Insuremytrip called them. They sent payment soon afterward. The claim was fairly settled but they dragged their feet until prodded.
