A sudden serious illness ruined our luxury European travel plans. We filed a five-figure claim in late May with IMG iTravelInsured and their service was prompt and courteous. By mid-August, we received notice that our full claim was allowed by their Underwriter and electronic payment is pending. And the premium was generallt10-15% less than several other similar plans. Highly recommended.

Plan was initially issued for trip that was cancelled by operator due to CoVid but IMG deferred the policy to this later trip. All company personnel contacted were friendly, helpful and professional.

We buy trip insurance every time we travel and thankfully, have never had to use it. This trip I tried to use it as the flight we were booked on coming back from Spain was overbook. We could not get on. All our luggage was on it's way to the USA at that point!
I called to see if the travel insurance could help us and was informed I would have to pay for everything up front and file a claim. It would have been nice if we could of at least shown receipts and our credit card credited. We were talking about $1,000.00's of dollars, with air fare etc added to our personal account after spending 19 days away.
Just seems like there should be an easier way.

Thank you very much for your excellent suggestions which we shared with iTravelInsured. Although there is always the possibility that the travel insurance industry may adopt similar ideas in the future, at this time travel insurance plans offer trip protection on a reimbursement basis which require that you pay up front and submit your receipts for reimbursement at a future date.Nov 25,2019

A friend of mine was hospitalized on a cruise ship for one day and was billed $19,000. A medical occurrence can happen to anyone. It’s beyond foolish not to buy trip insurance. I’ve always been satisfied with InsureMyTrip policies. Signing up is easy and the prices are reasonable. It’s a peace of mind thing. I strongly recommend this company.

Given the potential secondary ramifications of the Thomas Cook failure on the eve of my departure, the InsureMyTrip plan offered additional coverage and security. My tour company subscribed to UK ATOL (insurance protection for group tours transit) but I feared that insurance fund would be depleted by the Cook failure. I have no idea how to prepare for future BREXIT risks and would like to see separate offers to address this.

Thank you for your feedback. We have some plans that offer Cancel for Any Reason. There are typically 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, this benefit will typically reimburse you 75% of your trip cost, unless otherwise noted.

Fortunately, we did not need the insurance but I felt very secure knowing that I would be covered for any emergency. We’ve used this before a few years ago when filing a claim and were very satisfied.

I had no claims. We did experience being pickpocketed on the Milan, Italy subway where my wife lost her cell phone and later I lost a credit card(which I immediately cancelled) and some cash. However there was no way to document these losses for which lost baggage coverage did not apply. Your service seems much less expensive than equivalent coverage offered by tour operators and fellow travelers have been happy with it.
