Our son developed a fever in Spain. as a precaution, I contacted IMG by instant messenger in case we needed to take him to a doctor of some sort. It was very confusing as I was told that we simply show our "ID card" at one of the two places you have listed for Salamanca as a provider. We do not have one. We were never sent one. We received a form with our policy number. The contact person had no idea whether this would and kept telling us to present our ID card. When I tried to look for information online I would sometimes get in by providing policy number and email. Other times the same info would be responded to with a message that I was not in the system. In other words, I am not sure whether your insurance company can actually provide assistance if we need it. Fortunately, his fever went away.

I’m not sure I can give a fair review, since I (fortunately) didn’t need to use the insurance. It was easy to select a plan that appeared to offer coverage I might need. It was nice to have piece of mind that I at least had some coverage while abroad, and the price was great.

However, the International Medical Group Patriot International plan is a Travel Medical Plan that does not offer coverage for preexisting medical conditions regardless of the initial trip payment date. We recommend calling customer care at InsureMyTrip at (800) 487-4722 for a Comprehensive quote within 10 days of your initial trip payment date if you wish to purchase a policy that offers the preexisting medical condition waiver.Apr 28,2017
