This is the first time we have ever purchased trip cancellation insurance, and we're so glad we did. We had to cancel our entire trip two days before departure because of an unexpected medical issue. Customer service was very helpful. We appreciated being able to submit the claim forms as a PDF by email. We received a check for full reimbursement about 15 business days after claim submission, with no hassle. Fully satisfied.

You will be very pleased to hear that the John Hancock claims department issued and mailed your check on April 14, 2017, so you should soon be receiving payment. Most insurance companies request that claimants allow up to 30 days after they receive your paperwork to review and process a claim. One again we did NOT require any claims during this trip, a long journey to fairly inaccessible Antarctica! We were able to purchase a plan that covered about anything that could have happened to us--and an evacuation plan if it did-- and had no doubt we would be covered. We've only had one claim over the years of purchasing travel insurance thru insuremytrip, and the claim was handled fairly and reasonably promptly. We always get our travel insurance thru insuremytrip.com! Highly recommend them.
