I thought the pricing was fair compared to other providers for the same coverage. As I did not file a claim, I can not comment upon the responsiveness to that. However, I found the representatives to be very helpful and knowledgeable when I was placing the coverage and any time I had a question thereafter.

Whenever I purchase a travel insurance plan, my primary concern is the medical coverage and medical evacuation, which can be very costly. This plan had better protection, in that respect, than many of the others for this price point. Lost baggage and delay of trip are more or less standard in all of these plans. I also look to see that my protection is primary, rather than secondary. This means that if my baggage is lost, I don't need to file a claim with my homeowner's insurance company and just file directly with the travel insurance carrier. I did not need to file a claim (happily) so I can't comment on their service, which, after all, is what this is all about, but the protection available suited my requirements.

I purchased this John Hancock Gold plan to cover the specifics I needed such as step-family members. Also, because I was cruising to Hawaii, I wanted to ensure I had evacuation coverage should I need it (actually one of our fellow passengers got medically evacuated via helicopter....hope she had this plan...). This plan covered what I needed, including insurance covering the flight in case of a crash. Many plans don't offer flight insurance as part of their plans.

I've purchased various travel insurance plans from Insuremytrip.com and have been happy with all of them. IMT.com has many insurance plans and price options. This John Hancock Gold plan met my needs very well without breaking the bank. Certainly worth the price for the peace of mind.

This is the first time we have ever purchased trip cancellation insurance, and we're so glad we did. We had to cancel our entire trip two days before departure because of an unexpected medical issue. Customer service was very helpful. We appreciated being able to submit the claim forms as a PDF by email. We received a check for full reimbursement about 15 business days after claim submission, with no hassle. Fully satisfied.

    I bought "Cancel for Any Reason" which should be a no brainer for them! Nada-nothing-just stalling and delays.22 days out.

      You will be very pleased to hear that the John Hancock claims department issued and mailed your check on April 14, 2017, so you should soon be receiving payment. Most insurance companies request that claimants allow up to 30 days after they receive your paperwork to review and process a claim. John Hancock claims department makes every effort to streamline their claims processing which enabled them to settle your check within only 22 days.
