There were no hassles in making my claim for reimbursement due to the death of my husband. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating was that it took quite awhile to receive the reimbursement.

When comparing trip insurance, I found that the John Hancock plan was more comprehensive for a slightly lower price than comparable companies I had insured with in the past. Thankfully, I did not need to file any claims for my trip so I cannot comment on how good the coverage actually was.

How can you be satisfied or dissatisfied with something you've never used? Like all insurance products, the odds are in favor of the insurer and with travel insurance in particular, it is probably used to offset the costs of other products that actually have to pay out. Entirely too expensive.!

We use www.insuremytrip.com as it is easy way to find best policy for us. Many of our trips are long and due to our increase in age we are not happy with the premiums that are charged.....eventually it will prohibit us from traveling. We consider ourselves to be self insured and our only real needs are "cancellation"........It would be nice to be able to get coverage for just "cancellation" and perhaps emergency medical/evacuation (although we get reimbursed if self insured)) at a much lower cost. Often we pick John Hancock because it is the most competitive.... We have purchased several policies via www.insuremytrip.com in the past.

Thankfully we didn’t have to use this, but it was the peace of mind that we needed especially with all of the variables going on in our trip plan. Comprehensive policy premiums are rated based on the age of the traveler, his/her trip cost and the length of the trip. Since we offer plans from more than 25 of the leading providers of travel insurance, the pricing also varies by plan. Generally, the more expensive plans offer the broadest benefits with some exceptions.
