I purchased this because last year I got derailed by hurricane Irma. I paid a lot for house so insured in case. Well got hit by Florence. Roads were cut off by flooding on 501 getting in to Myrtle beach and Conway flooding. With the fear it would continue to get worse not better. Having two babies to risk flooding roads and the constant fear of flooding, roads were closing constantly. Could not risk their lives. When tried to make claim informed since house wasn’t destroyed by hurricane had no insurance. Everyone I told said this was bull. So I spent 800 to fly in so we could keep my family out of danger and we did the trip. People told us they were stuck on roads 12 hours, cars ran out of gas stranded everywhere and people feared getting out that made it in as rivers crested. This was a worthless piece of paper. Great company was surprised.

On the trip my wife legs swelled and got rash. She did self diagnosis her condition on google. We did not consult a Doctor. She need cream and rented a scooter. After talking to agent we should of called your emergency number to get medical advice. I was not aware we could call in for non emergency. The policy may have allowed telemedicine with doctor. I wish we were aware of this option.

I thought the price was a little high, but much cheaper than the Gulf Coast through the realty companies. I will price this again on our next trip. Only found out about your service when we signed up to go to Little Saint Simmons Island Georgia. Your service might consider more advertising. Of course we were only looking for protection if we encountered a major negative.

The plan was easy to purchase online. Due to an accidental overbooking by our tour company, our travel dates needed to be changed. It completely slipped my mind to change our insurance until we were a couple of weeks away from our departure. They were awesome to work with and with proper documentation from the tour company changed our covered travel dates no problem. They were great at communicating with me and I really appreciate how on top of everything they were. We did not end up needing to file any claims, but it's nice to know we were covered.

With respect to hurricanes and natural disasters, here are the covered reasons included in your policy:
"You or a Traveling Companion... having Your principal place of residence made Uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster...;
You, a Traveling Companion or Family Member, who are military personnel, and are called to emergency duty for a natural disaster;
Weather that causes complete cessation of services of the Common Carrier for at least twenty-four (24) consecutive hours and prevents You from reaching Your destination. This benefit will not apply if the potential natural disaster has been forecasted or a storm has been named prior to purchase of this coverage...;
Natural disaster at the site of Your destination that renders Your destination accommodations Uninhabitable..."
